Arvada City Council on the Record


Arvada City Council voted on the following items during a regular business meeting on Feb 4. Council members in attendance were Mayor Marc Williams; Mayor Pro Tem Rachel Zenzinger, District 1; Mark McGoff, District 2; Shelley Cook, District 3; Bob Dyer, District 4; Councilmen At-Large Bob Fifer and Don Allard.

Council unanimously approves
agreements with two companies

Council unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included two items.

The first item was a resolution authorizing a Church Ditch Water Authority license agreement between the Church Ditch Water Authority, Boyd Ponds Metropolitan District Number One and the city of Arvada pertaining to the box culverts near Quaker Street and West 64th Avenue. The second item was a resolution authorizing a utility easement near West 58th Avenue and Garrison Street to Public Service Company of Colorado. The items were passed with no discussion.

Public hearings set for annexation, rezoning of Tucker Lake

Public meetings were set and approved by council for two related items. The first is the annexation of Tucker Lake, near West 72nd Avenue and Virgil Way, into the city of Arvada. The second item was the rezoning of the Tucker Lake land within the city of Arvada from Jefferson County agricultural land to city of Arvada conservation district. The items were approved with no discussion on their first reading. Public hearings are set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 4.

Intergovernmental agreement grants access sex offender software

Council unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement between Douglas County and the city of Arvada to allow Arvada to use a sex offender tracking and registration software the county developed. The software’s purpose is to allow for easier monitoring of sex offenders in Arvada. The city is able to opt out of the program at any time. The program is available to law enforcement departments across the state free of charge.

The next council meeting is at 6 p.m. Monday, March 4 at City Hall, 8101 Ralston Road.
