Rain continues to soak flooded Front Range

The deluge continued through the weekend along Colorado's Front Range, with hundreds of people reported missing, and neighborhoods and entire towns evacuated.

In the west metro area, some of the worst road damage has occurred up Coal Creek Canyon. Highway 72 is closed to all traffic from Pinecliffe on the west side to Blue Mountain Drive on the east side.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office closed Twin Spruce Gap Road for emergency repairs for a few hours over the weekend, and said the route remains questionable.

Jeffco Road and Bridge also reported that Gap Road, the primary route for emergency services to access the Coal Creek area, could soon be closed due to a growing sink hole.

Other Jeffco area road closures, including State Highway 93 between Golden and Boulder, have largely been lifted, though officials still have requested that motorists stay off the road unless necessary.
