Colorado Gives Day, a day dedicated to increase philanthropy through online giving, takes place from midnight to 11:59 p.m. Dec. 4.
Thousands of participating nonprofits can be found or researched by name, cause or location on the Colorado Gives website.
Donations can be scheduled in advance before Dec. 4, but will still be counted towards the incentive fund bonus.

Colorado Gives Day — Dec. 4 this year — is an annual, statewide event that dedicates one day to increasing philanthropy through online giving.Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund again this year, one of the largest in the country. The fund is used to increases the value of every donation proportionally. So if a nonprofit organization receives 10 percent of the total amount of money raised on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives 10 percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.At the completion of Colorado Gives Day, the Foundation will determine each nonprofit's proportionate share of the incentive fund by dividing the total amount each charity raised by the total amount of donations to all participating nonprofits.More than 2,300 nonprofits and charities from across the state are participating, and more than 1,660 of them are based in or have reach in Jefferson County.Additionally, there are numerous statewide and regional charities that do important and amazing things for the people of Jefferson County. Organizations like the Food Bank of the Rockies partners with multiple Jeffco organizations to help feed the hungry.However, if you want to donate directly to an organization closer to home, here are just a few suggestions:Angels with Paws — A donation-only funded, mostly cage-free rescue shelter in Lakewood providing over 10,000 animals since opening, with care, rehab and safety until homes are found.Community First Foundation — A community foundation in Arvada that helps donors and nonprofits improve quality of life and create positive change in Jefferson County, the Denver metropolitan area and beyond.Community Table (formerly the Arvada Community Food Bank) — Begun as an interchurch project, the nonprofit serves the needy and vulnerable in the Arvada area, with the goal to secure the resources (food, financial, physical, and volunteers) necessary to help community members in need.Global Refuge International — The group provides emergency relief and medical aid to ensure survival of those fleeing from war. The group also empowers indigenous people, teaching medical skills, disease prevention, agricultural management and spiritual support.Ralston House — A child advocacy nonprofit that helps bring child sexual abuse to light. When a child tells his or her story, the healing process begins. Ralston House works to stop the abuse and start the healing.Rocky Mountain Deaf School — RMDS is a free public charter school in Jefferson County that offers a bilingual education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students Preschool-12th grade. We provide a language rich environment in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English.Seniors' Resource Center — The Wheat Ridge-located organization is dedicated to enhancing the independence, dignity and quality of life for older adults in the area, even those suffering from physical or mental ailments.
