My name is...Kathryn Tighe

Realtor, dog mom, cooking enthusiast

About me

I’m a Realtor. I’m a dog mom. I grew up in Littleton. I can’t say I’m a native becauseI moved here when I was 10. My mom is a native though, so I feel like i can brag about that a little. I’m excited to see Arvada growing and businesses choosing this as their home. I’m excited to put roots down here and help the community keep it’s small town energy but also grow.

I love to cook

I worked in a restaurant in college. I was a hostess, but I was always totally fascinated about the kitchen. I starting having family meals at my house in my early 20s. I really love the community of meals and I love hosting. I could have a dinner party every night and it doesn’t stress me out. I get that from my mom. She doesn’t cook, but she likes to host. Cooking is relaxing to me. It’s my way of being by myself, learning about different ingredients. And I love that you can take all of these different things and combine them to make something else.

Why I like real estate

I’m involved in real estate because I have an entrepreneurial sprit. My parents owned their own business and I’ve always had the goal of working for myself. Real estate has always fascinated me and I feel like a person is in their best self when they’re happy with their home. I like helping make that piece of their life peaceful. That’s why I got into it. It’s a way to share a really incredible moment with people. First time homebuyers are my favorite because it’s the best day of their life if they haven’t had a baby yet. I never know what my day looks like, so I have to be ready for everything. I like the trill of that. And if there’s no thrill that day, then I get to throw my yoga pants on, walk my dog and watch a movie.

My dog, Maxx

Maxx is my dog. One of the X’s is a tribute to Colfax, which is where he was found. He was found at my moms school and he has been by my side ever since. That was 11 years ago. When I say by my side, I mean within touching distance. He’s blind and toothless at this point in his life and he’s just my buddy. He’s my spirit animal, I think.
