Standley Lake High School seniors celebrated each other’s talents through a variety of musical performances and poem readings at the schools 28th annual graduation ceremony May 18 at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield.
Students also celebrated academic achievements with the presentation of one salutatorian, Madrid Mitton; and eight valedictorians, Esteban Arellano, Olivia Bird, Kira Boatright, Kendall Bril, Anna Nelson, Kelly Osborne, Kaitlyn Ruzicka and Janelle Erickson.
Principal Jeff Pierson reminded students, before they accepted their diplomas, that the road ahead will not be smooth.
“Your true growth and progress will not be evident without overcoming failures, mistakes and challenges,” he told the graduates. “The key is the willingness to expose and accept failure and not to let it define you.”
