A suspect has been arrested after a shooting left three people dead at a Walmart in Thornton the night of Nov. 1.
On Twitter the morning of Nov. 2, Thornton Police identified the suspect as Scott Ostrem, 47. He was wanted on a "nationwide extradition homicide warrant," the tweet stated.
Later in the morning, shortly after 8:30 a.m., police said Ostrem had been taken into custody near his 7121 Samuel Drive address. A police spokesperson said Ostrem was arrested in his car in the area of 72nd Avenue and Federal Boulevard in Westminster.
No motive for the shooting had been released as of 9 a.m. Nov. 2.
Thornton Police closed the streets surrounding the Thornton Town Center Walmart at 9900 Grant St. after a reported 6:10 p.m. shooting Nov. 1 claimed three lives, according to police reports.
Shortly after the report of the shooting, police said two men were killed in the shooting and one woman was transported to a local hospital. Later in the night, police said she died.
Police had the area surrounding the store closed while they cleared the store and investigated the scene.
