Three incumbents, board president Ron Mitchell, Susan Harmon and Brad Rupert will seek reelection for their seats, which they acquired in 2015 after the recall of former board majority members Ken Witt, Julie Williams and John Newkirk.
With the deadline to file Sept. 1, Erica Shields and Matt Van Gieson turned in petitions just before the 5:30 p.m. cut off.
District officials have yet to certify the petitions as valid, so the field is not officially set.
Unofficially, current board member Harmon, representing the foothills in District 2, faces opposition from Shields, while board member Rupert, representing Arvada’s District 1, is being challenged by Van Gieson.
Mitchell will face no competition for his seat.
