On Sept. 14, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) held his 100th of his Government in the Grocery events. He started the Government in the Grocery program when he first took office in 2007 to meet directly with 7th congressional district constituents in their community. The first Government in the Grocery was held on Jan. 27, 2007 in Wheat Ridge, and the 100th was held in Lakewood. “I believe being accessible and engaging often with constituents is essential to the fabric of our democracy,” Perlmutter said in a statement. “The Government in the Grocery program is an easy and convenient way for constituents to share their concerns, ideas and questions and, in turn, makes me a better representative.” A schedule of upcoming events, including the dates and locations of future Government in the Grocery gatherings are available at perlmutter.house.gov.
