Arvadans are potentially just months away from enjoying their burgers Animal Style, as city council recently approved five major modification proposals needed for In-N-Out Burger’s proposal to open a location at 52nd Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard.
The planned location at 7370 W. 52nd Ave — in the Arvada Marketplace shopping center which currently houses a Michaels, Sam’s Club and other retail stores — would be In-N-Out’s first in Arvada. The intersection of 52nd and Wadsworth is one of the busiest in the state, according to Arvada Planning Commission Chair Michael Griffith.
The fast food chain’s proposal is for a facility that includes indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. The proposal includes 53 parking spots.
Concerns about traffic and accessibility were raised at the July 18 council meeting, with a representative for In-N-Out stating that the chain will bring in a team of experienced employees to help train staff on directing traffic. Councilmember Lisa Smith voted no on some of the major modification proposals, citing traffic concerns. Smith was the lone dissenting vote.
After the approval of the major modification proposals, In-N-Out’s application moves to an administrative review, which will be handled by the city team. After the application is approved, In-N-Out can begin construction on the site.
