Police, golf course seek public’s help
in finding vandal

West Woods Golf Club is offering a $250 reward for information that leads to an arrest in regards to vandalism on the course.

On Tuesday, July 16, a West Woods employee discovered two mature Cottonwood trees had been vandalized on the Cottonwood course near the 14th tee.

The value of the two trees is estimated to be $2,500.

The vandalism negatively affects both the golf course’s neighbors and the golf course, said Manager of Golf Operations Jim Wilkins.

”These crimes impact our course’s neighbors negatively since the trees were planted in that area as a safety screen for errant golf shots into their property as well as losing the great aesthetics provided by two 60-foot high trees,” Wilkins said.

”The vandalism will also impact our budget since there is significant cost to replace the trees as well as remove the ones that were needlessly destroyed.”

To report information regarding the vandalism, call the Arvada Police Department at 720-898-6900.
