Council unanimously approved the preliminary plan for the development of a new Centura Health Facility at 64th Avenue and Quaker Street. The plan included two phases, one that would create a primary-care health facility with an emphasis on sports medicine. Phase two would build an adjoining emergency-care facility approximately 110 feet from the primary-care building.

This project is part of the company's efforts to bring health care into the communities and is one of five in the north Denver-metro area.

The next city council meeting will be 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8, in council chambers at Arvada City Hall, 8101 Ralston Road.
