YMCA play space ‘will impact thousands of kids and families’

Volunteers from all over the Arvada community joined together on July 27 to build a new play space near the Susan M. Duncan Family YMCA, 6350 Eldridge St.

The community event attracted a number of citizen volunteers, as well volunteers from KaBOOM! and Foresters Financial, both of which have overseen 144 such projects throughout the companies’ initiative to create more places for children to exercise and interact.

The team of volunteers worked completed the space in five hours, building a multi-sport court based on designs children drew for the project back in May.

“The YMCA of Metro Denver is grateful for the collaboration to bring this special new space to our Arvada wellness center,” said YMCA of Metro Denver CEO Sue Glass. “We know it will impact thousands of kids and families within this community, furthering our mission to build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”
