Effective Jan. 25, 2022, Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Shrader rescinded a Nov. 19 temporary Stage 1 fire restriction order for the county.

Effective Jan. 25, 2022, Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Shrader rescinded a Nov. 19 temporary Stage 1 fire restriction order for the county.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and use caution when starting and extinguishing campfires, outdoor cooking, disposing of lighted cigarettes, and other activities that involve fire or sparks.

The Sheriff’s Office will continue to monitor the fire danger in the county and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
