Schools shut two straight days by wet and windy storm

Golden’s Clear Creek flowed with snow melt March 14, the day after the blizzard dubbed the “bomb cyclone” hit Colorado. The storm brought nearly 13 inches of snow to Golden, one of the highest totals in the metro area. Snow and high winds caused power outages, road closures and two consecutive days of no school.

All Jeffco Public Schools will be closed Thursday, March 14 due to weather and power outages in multiple schools building following the blizzard.

Most city governments, including the county administrative building and court annouced that they would be open today on a late-start schedule

For both March 13 and 14, there was no school for students, employees do not need to report to work (unless otherwise notified), and all facilities are closed. All after school activities, child care services, and meetings in our buildings are cancelled.

The only exception was the Board of Education meeting,  held at 8:30 a.m., March 13, at the Ed Center, 1829 Denver West Dr., Golden.  It can  be watched online.
