Jefferson County Humanists Monthly Meeting - Addiction in a Secular World

UU Minister Rev. Ruth Rinehart will provide a historical overview of understanding addictions; the rise of the religious 12 step movement, why it doesn’t work, and a new secular 12 step movement – what works without a supernatural god.

Rinehart says of herself: “I have been sober for 40 years and entered seminary in 2012 a typical 12 step theist. I graduated Iliff School of Theology as an atheist, and now identify as a Religious Humanist”

We will serve appetizers from 4:00 to 4:30, then start the program. The program will include announcements and a Humanist Moment before the presentation begins.
