Letter: Apply to be on a board or commission

Posted 12/20/22

When I read my city council emails, people are usually expressing concerns about their city and don’t know where to start. There is a desire to get involved and see real change. Well neighbors, I am excited to share with you, there is a way to get involved, and the time is NOW!

Apply to be on a board or commission before Jan. 9! Applications are quick and easy to submit.

Applications are open for:

Arvada Urban Renewal Authority

Building Code Advisory Board

Design Review Advisory

Festivals Commission

Golf Advisory Committee

Housing Advisory Committee

Human Services Advisory Committee

Liquor Licensing Authority

Park Advisory Committee

Sustainability Advisory Committee

Transportation Committee

You can learn more about these boards and apply at: www.arvada.org/city-hall/government/boards-and-commissions-application

P.S. If you are looking for more reasons to step up and serve, I can happily share that studies show people who volunteer tend to live longer and happier lives, as volunteering releases natural endorphins in our body. Thanks for stepping up and helping shape our great city!
