I was stunned to read a recent letter to the editor that praised President Trump’s narcissism. Apparently, we as a nation are benefiting from his being, as the writer stated “aware of himself.”
Narcissism is defined as a “disorder” and not an attribute to be admired. It is generally defined as a person who exaggerates his achievements and talents, fantasizes about his power, brilliance or beauty, requires constant admiration, and takes advantage of others while behaving arrogantly. 
To admire Trump for his narcissism must surely mean that there must be a gross misunderstanding of what narcissism actually means or that, definition aside, we ought to praise one of the most seriously flawed presidents in the history of the United States, good economy or not.
