Letter to the editor: Creek demands caution

Posted

I read the Transcript article, ‘River safety is no Joke.’ It reminded me of of an incident about three or four years ago. It was December and Clear Creek had a hard crust of ice over it. My husband Mike (Golden Demon Class of 1955) and I were standing on the bridge near the Golden History Park when we saw a young man walking on the crust from one side of the creek to the other. The young man then came up and started across the bridge. My husband said to him, “Do you realize how very dangerous what you just did was?” The young man laughed and replied, “I’ve never walked on water before.” My husband said....” Son, that’s a good way to meet Jesus!”
