Letter to the editor: Murder in our name

Posted

Is it a tragedy or downright evil, that Iranian General Soleimani was murdered by the US shortly after arriving in Baghdad on a commercial flight, bearing his Government’s response to a Saudi Arabian peace proposal, where the Iraqi government was to act as a mediator?

Why or who would want to destroy a reduction in tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia?

Isn’t it an even greater evil that the the entire spectrum of media, government officials, and talk-show hosts, acting in concert, are giving us, not two minutes of daily hate, but continuous round-the-clock hate to justify the ill thought assassination?

To limit regrettable overreactions, shouldn’t both parties in Congress immediately unite to impose sufficient time-delays between newsworthy items, and violent reactions by all US Presidents?
