Little Elementary celebrates the arts

Little Elementary was transformed into an artistic space March 22 for Art Day, a partnership with the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities designed to bring educational art experiences to students. Throughout the day, 35 workshops in both visual and performing arts were taught to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

“We’re really trying to bring authentic learning to the kids and expose them to more of the arts,” said Principal Julie Waage. “Bringing our community in together and giving kids the opportunity to play and to learn with community partners was really important to us.”

The day of creative fun was made possible through fundraising from the school’s PTSA and a grant from the Arvada Center.
