What do the DAC, the CAAC, and the TDPAC all have in common? They’re all Jeffco Schools advisory committees and they all have open seats for the 2021-22 school year.

What they do.

The District Accountability Committee (DAC) acts in an advisory capacity on such topics as the district’s budget and unified improvement plan as provided by law. According to the District’s notice about the open seat, the time commitment for the DAC is between four to eight hours per month in late afternoons/evenings.

The Capital Asset Advisory Committee (CAAC) monitors the planning of district capital needs and the implementation of capital programs. The CAAC is also consulted if a capital project encounters significant cost overruns and reports to the Board of Education on an annual basis.

The Technology and Data Privacy Advisory Committee (TDPAC) was created to advise on district technology strategies, systems and overall data governance, the committee reviews the district’s technology plan considering alignment with instructional goals and opportunities for technology innovation.

According to a recent Jeffco Schools Community Update, the District is seeking engaged Jeffco schools’ parents, staff, business and community members to volunteer to serve as committee members.

If you are interested in providing insight and advice to the Jeffco Board of Education through participation on an advisory committee, you can find more information online at: www.jeffcopublicschools.org/about/board/district_advisory_committees.

The Board of Education will review applications in May in order to appoint members in June. This will allow new members to begin committee work for the 2021-22 school year in August.
