League of Women Voters to hostto host congressional candidate forum Oct. 4

The League of Women Voters of Jefferson County is hosting a forum featuring state congressional candidates at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Arvada City Council chambers, 8101 Ralston Road.

The forum is open to the candidates of House districts 24, 27 and 29; and Senate District 19. KATV will televise the forum live on Channel 8. Because of the broadcast, attendees will not be admitted once the forum begins; attendees are asked to arrive early. For more information, call 720-898-7550.

League of Women Voters to discuss ballot issues during forum Oct. 9

The Jefferson County League of Women Voters will host a forum about the issues on the November ballot on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Topics will include issues such as the legalization of marijuana, campaign finance limits, education funding and more.

The discussion will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Sportline, 6543 Wadsworth Blvd.

Senate 19 candidates to participate in rescheduled forum Oct. 10

The candidates vying for the Senate District 19 seat will participate in a forum during the Arvada Chamber of Commerce’s October membership luncheon. Democratic Sen. Evie Hudak and Republican candidate Lang Sias will take part in the rescheduled forum, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at DiCicco’s, 5660 Olde Wadsworth Blvd.

Tickets for the event cost the same as all chamber luncheons, $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
