A dozen participants — and about twice that many spectators — turned out for the first event of the 17th annual Golden Community Rodeo Series. Put on by Colorado Whitewater, the competitions take place on three consecutive Wednesday evenings at Clear Creek Whitewater Park in Golden. The first event on June 13 was a freestyle kayak competition. June 20 will also be a freestyle kayak competition and June 27 will be a downriver race for all river sport devices.
