West Woods Ranch HOA votes against pool and clubhouse proposal

72% of voters opt to stop project, which would have placed facility near Blunn Reservoir

The residents of the West Woods Ranch Homeowners Association voted down the proposal to continue a project that would have placed a pool and clubhouse at 72nd Avenue and Virgil Way, voting down the proposal on Nov. 10 by a tally of 446 votes against to 173 votes for.

The proposal garnered criticism from HOA members, who spoke out against the project at a Oct. 2 neighborhood meeting at the West Woods Community Police Station.

At the neighborhood meeting, the project drew ire from residents of West Woods and the Trail Village Homeowners Association, due to the increase of West Woods HOA fees by about $747 annually and the pool's proximity to Trail Village — whose residents would not be able to use the pool.

There were 619 ballots returned out of the 731 sent out. Of that, 72% of which voted against the proposal.
